While not impossible to run events live, it comes with a little bit more setup and practice. This is the board you'll tend to learn on if you are looking to do a lot of theatre shows and are involved in mermaids. | Lighting information is sent around our venue using ArtNet (excluding showXpress which outputs DMX directly). This ArtNet information is fed into ArtNet Nodes in the power room which break the signal into 12 universes of lighting information which runs along DMX cables. These then snake out into the rest of the venue running to each of the locations. Here there is also a merger which combines the signals from showXpress and the relevant DMX cable from the lighting boards (once converted from ArtNet). Finally, at the edge of the stage, we have two DMX splitters which break that cable into a larger number of connections. | |
